Outdoor Kitchen's

Backyard kitchens with cooking surfaces, sinks, bars and storage areas are all the rage in the growing outdoor living trend. Concrete counter tops are being noticed as the number one material that is both highly functional as well as decorative for taking cooking and entertaining activities outdoors.

Patios

No matter what your style we can help you create your perfect patio. Bistro Patio’s are great for side yards and little back corner destinations, Living Room Patio’s are great for deep seating patio furniture, Outdoor Dining area’s are great for accommodating your dining table, & Sundeck Patio’s are great for lounge chairs and cocktail tables.

Planter/Garden Walls

You can add pattern and texture & incorporate landscaping plants. Unlike wood, concrete doesn’t warp or rot, it requires little maintenance, and it will withstand fire and strong winds. Beyond these practical reasons, concrete walls appeal to many homeowners because of the numerous design options possible.

Pool Decks

Decorative concrete has opened the doors to creating pool decks that complement the exterior of the home, meld with the outdoor environment, and replicate exotic and traditionally expensive materials such as slate, stone or even wood. With the new techniques for stamping and applying decorative concrete, almost any look can be created.

We have the equipment and experience to handle your residential concrete needs, including demolition & removal. Owner & Operator of T/A pump since 2003.

Retaining Walls

Retaining walls can be installed in a wide variety of colors, sizes, and textures. They can incorporate straight or curved lines, steps, and corners and even be used as garden walls or planters.

Sidewalks & Walkways

While plain gray concrete is still the most often surface installed, as seen on most concrete sidewalks, there are numerous decorative concrete alternatives sure to dress it up, taking your sidewalk from boring to amazing. They can provide much-needed curb appeal to homes and buildings, and they are fast becoming a point of artistic expression by way of a multitude of decorative concrete options.

Stamped Concrete

Recently, stamped concrete has become a popular choice for many homeowners because it offers a wide array of options when it comes to concrete pattern and concrete colors. Another factor contributing to its popularity is its price. The cost of stamped or imprinted concrete is often considerably lower than the materials it is a substitute for. By imprinting patterns in freshly placed concrete, you can achieve the high-end look of stone or brick pavement-and often at a lower cost.

Steps

Elevating concrete stairs from bland to grand makes them the dramatic focal point of any hard scape. Even greater visual impact is possible by combining decorative stairways with stamped or stained concrete walkways and landings that incorporate coordinating colors and patterns.

Driveways

Decorative concrete is one of the most reasonable ways to spruce up the entrance to your home. Although plain gray concrete is still installed most often, more people are catching on to the dazzling effects possible with decorative concrete and seeing the instant curb appeal a decorative driveway can give to any home.

Entryways

Through the use of color, texture, shape and pattern, concrete can be made warm and inviting. The entryway to your home should welcome you home. Stamped or stenciled patterns, engraving, exposed-aggregate finishes, colored concrete, and concrete staining are just a few of the ways you can enhance your sidewalk design. You may also consider adding steps, columns, lighting, seat walls or fancy edges. Concrete is flexible enough to mimic nearly any material, pattern or color, allowing you to create a concrete entryway that matches or complements your home’s architecture and color palette.

Finish Specialty Coats

Many floor finishes — including staining, dyeing, polishing and decorative coatings — can be applied to existing concrete as well as new concrete. In addition to their decorative merits, all concrete floor finishes are easy to maintain. They can endure heavy foot traffic, they are stain and moisture resistant, and they won’t harbor mold, mildew, allergens, or dust mites.

Fire Pits

There are an infinite number of possible designs, and outdoor fire pits no longer need to be just a round pile of rocks. Fire pits are social, they will encourage storytelling, laughter and s’more eating. They extend the enjoyment of an outdoor living area by providing warmth, light, and relaxation.

Flooring Indoors and Outdoors

Every concrete floor is unique, often customized with the input of you the owner to blend with other architectural elements in a given space. Few flooring materials have the longevity of concrete. Carpet, tile and even wood floors eventually need replacement, which uses up resources and reoccurring costs. Concrete has a unique beauty that’s brought to life by different finishing and coloring techniques, plus there is no predetermined color palette to limit designs.

Garage Floor Coatings

Choosing the design for your garage floor covering can be as simple as matching the color of your house or as involved as hiding any imperfections or flaws in the existing floor. Garage floor coverings have the versatility to go with any style of décor. Looks can range from simple gray concrete with a sealer to a more complex colored base with multicolor flecks in it, offering a design similar to granite or terrazzo. Now you no longer have to settle for boring, gray concrete flooring. The garage floors can be as aesthetically pleasing as the rest of your home.

We are so pleased with the patio extension Gerry did. Work was started and completed when he said it would be, a trait many contractors lack. We plan on using him again for another project and wouldn't hesitate for a second recommending Gates Concrete to friends and family!

Gerry was was not only pleasant to work with, and gave a fair price, but his work was completed timely. He and his crew built steps outside a four-plex a apartment building on a sloping street…not a simple task. The tenants all appreciated his concern regarding any inconvenience. I intend to use his services for future concrete work.

I am pretty sure we might use them and one of the reasons is because the guy came on a Saturday at nine and I appreciate anybody that can come in their day off. He gave my estimate, he made some suggestions and recommendations and he gave me some suggestions on what we might want to do to save some money, on our work we need. He said it would be about two days for him to email me the final estimate and I thought that was fair. His bid was not only competitive but I think he was right there and also we had asked him for references and he offered references in our area where we could look at his work. This Friday I sent him an email asking him for some additional references and not only did he do that, he gave us the phone numbers and the names. We went out to Ontario to see some of the work he did and the lady there said, with her job, his bid came in lower than everybody else’s did. At first, she was concerned but she said not only his was the best bid for the work but also she felt that he charged her minimal for the work he did and the work was great. She said he did everything she asked him to do and she said that he was only one that came out with laser to scope things out to make sure they had the right grange and slant on the work he did. I felt that was being a perfectionist. When he was here, I absolutely felt the same. He said my estimate would be in mail in two days and sure enough, it was there.
I got an estimate from Gates Concrete to pour concrete for a garage, a driveway, a side yard and a slab for the backyard patio. The quote also included demolitions and a nice recommendation in the walkway, like decorative and stamped concrete.
